Texas A&M and Texas are set to resume their rivalry once the Longhorns join the SEC in 2024. However, the details around the game are another element to the rivalry that athletics directors Ross Bjork and Chris Del Conte aren’t on the same page about.

In an article in The Athletic, Bjork and Del Conte lay out their expectations for where the first game will be played. Bjork is confident it’ll be at Kyle Field. His reasoning?

“Just because of everything that’s transpired,” he said. “And that’s something that we’ve expressed to the SEC, and I guess we’ll just leave it at that.”

The Aggies haven’t received assurance from SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey or anyone else at the league office, but described it as a “very, very firm” position.

Del Conte, meanwhile, isn’t on that page. He’s heard that as a possible idea, but not from the “powers that be,” and also described it as “internet fodder.”

The teams split their last 2 meetings, and haven’t played since 2011.
