The No. 4 LSU Tigers are set for their first real test of conference play this season, as they are hitting the road to take on the No. 13 Ole Miss Rebels in Oxford in a pivotal early-season matchup between unbeaten SEC foes.

This matchup obviously has a ton of postseason implications attached to it, and whoever ends up coming out on top will have secured the inside track to Atlanta in early December and a potential slot in the College Football Playoff.

Given the magnitude of this game for both sides, ESPN analyst and former LSU Tigers safety Ryan Clark took to First Take on Friday morning to deliver an impassioned speech to the LSU locker room ahead of their game against the Rebels.

“This is straight to the LSU fans, and straight to the LSU players,” Clark said at the start of his speech. “You see what they’re doing? We’re the top 5 team, but we’re the underdogs? You know what, Garrett Nussmeier, go win the Heisman this week. Go get yourself that No. 1 pick this week. It’s time for the blowout.”

Here’s a clip from this segment on First Take:

It’s clear that Clark himself wishes he could be suiting up and taking the field for his alma mater this weekend, but that ship has long since sailed.

Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon in Oxford.
