Week 1 of the SEC football season is in the books.
On Monday afternoon, the Southeastern Conference announced its official Players of the Week for Week 1. LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt and Ole Miss wide receiver Deuce Alexander were named co-offensive players of the week for their efforts.
Leavitt led LSU to a 51-10 win over Clemson. He threw for 230 yards and rushed for a team-high 113 yards, accounting for 3 total touchdowns in LSU’s blowout win.
Alexander caught a pair of 62-yard touchdown passes from Trinidad Chambliss in Ole Miss’s narrow win over Louisville on Sunday night. In total, he amassed 5 catches for 159 yards and those 2 touchdowns.

- Co-defensive player of the week: Eric Winters, Auburn
- Co-defensive player of the week: Rasheem Biles, Texas
- Co-special teams player of the week: Isaiah Sategna, Oklahoma
- Co-special teams player of the week: Lucas Carneiro, Ole Miss
- Offensive lineman of the week: Jordan Seaton, LSU
- Defensive lineman of the week: Jordan Ross, LSU
- Freshman of the week: Faizon Brandon, Tennessee
Two players earned spots on the list after making game-winning plays in Week 1. Winters made a game-saving tackle on the goal line to prevent Baylor from taking the lead with just seconds remaining in the game. Carneiro drilled a 48-yard field goal to give Ole Miss a 41-38 with no time left in the fourth quarter.
