Sam Leavitt not on Friday night injury report, set to play in LSU-Ole Miss showdown

Sam Leavitt is apparently healed and all set to play for LSU in Saturday night’s SEC showdown at Ole Miss.
After being listed as doubtful on Wednesday night and then being upgraded to questionable on Thursday night with what On3’s Pete Nakos reported as a sore throwing shoulder, Leavitt was taken off the Friday night injury report that was released by the SEC.
This should clear the way for the Arizona State transfer to start at quarterback for the 7th-ranked Tigers as they invade Oxford to face the 8th-ranked Rebels in Lane Kiffin‘s much-anticipated return to the place he left late last season. The kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC, and Leavitt should be front and center now that he’s been removed from the injury report.
This doesn’t automatically mean that Leavitt will play on Saturday night, of course, but it’s a rapid turn of events as Leavitt went from doubtful to off the injury report in a span of 2 days.
Leavitt had taken part in LSU’s walkthrough on Thursday, according to a report by CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, even after being listed as doubtful on Wednesday night’s injury report. This caused a stir because of the magnitude of Saturday night’s game and Kiffin’s role within it.
There was heavy skepticism about Leavitt being truly injured, and his removal from Friday night’s injury report seems to back up that previous skepticism.
