SEC Nation announces country music star as special guest for Baton Rouge show
SEC Nation will have a distinct Louisiana flavor on Saturday morning, when the popular pregame show on SEC Network heads to Baton Rouge for the leadup to Saturday night’s showdown between Florida and No. 3 LSU.
The show kicks off at 10 a.m. ET and will feature special guest Lainey Wilson, a country music sensation who just happens to hail from Louisiana. The 33-year-old Wilson was born and raised in Baskin, La., a town of about 250 people that’s about 2 and a half hours from Baton Rouge, the site of the show and the juicy SEC matchup from Death Valley. There will be just a few more people at Tiger Stadium on Saturday night for the game than live in Wilson’s hometown, which is quite an interesting fact in itself.
LSU will be trying to get to 3-0 on the young season while 1-1 Florida is now unranked after last week’s stunning home loss to South Florida and will be trying to bounce back in a major way. It will be the SEC opener for both teams.
Wilson will help set the stage for the matchup, and SEC Network was all fired up on Friday afternoon, firing off this post with the headline in all capital letters:
SEC Network also posted this message from Wilson, with cowboy hat and all:
Wilson is back in her home state to perform some shows, but on Saturday morning she’ll be part of a different kind of show.
