SEC Nation announces destination for first round of College Football Playoff

SEC Nation has traveled all around the South each week during the 2024 season, and they aren’t finished yet.

The SEC-focused pregame show will be heading to Austin, Texas, on Saturday, Dec. 21 to be on location for Clemson-Texas in the first round of the College Football Playoff. The SEC Network announced that choice on Friday night.

The network also announced that Marty & McGee will be live from Columbus, Ohio, for Tennessee vs. Ohio State that same day:

Texas earned the No. 5 seed in this year’s College Football Playoff after narrowly losing the SEC Championship Game to Georgia in overtime. The Longhorns went 11-2 this season with both losses coming against UGA. They’re considered significant favorites over Clemson in the first round.

The Tigers made the field by virtue of being the 5th highest-ranked conference champion. Clemson defeated SMU in the ACC Championship Game thanks to a buzzer-beating field goal by Nolan Hauser. This will be Clemson’s 7th CFP appearance all-time.

Although Texas and Clemson are both storied programs, this will be their first-ever meeting in football.

SEC Nation will begin at 10 a.m. ET on Saturday, Dec. 21. Kickoff between Texas and Clemson is set for 4 p.m. ET that afternoon.
