SEC Network analysts reveal updated SEC football power rankings ahead of Week 7
SEC Network’s quartet of college football analysts weighed in on Friday regarding where the SEC power structure stands on the eve of Week 7.
Dari Nowkhah, Alyssa Lang, Benjamin Watson and Chris Doering each listed their SEC football power rankings, from 1 all the way down to 16, with another huge conference slate on top for Saturday.
The headline game in the SEC for Week 7 pits Alabama venturing to Columbia to face Mizzou in a noon ET kickoff on ABC. For Nowkhah and Lang, the Crimson Tide are the best team in the SEC, at least through Week 6. Both had Bama on top of their SEC power rankings list, and curiously both didn’t show much respect for the unbeaten team that Alabama will be facing on Saturday afternoon.
Neither Nowkhah nor Lang had Mizzou in their top 5, with Nowkhah putting the 5-0 Tigers at No. 6 and Lang placing Mizzou all the way down at No. 8.
Meanwhile, Doering and Watson both had Ole Miss as their top SEC team going into Week 7. The Rebels are also unbeaten at 5-0 heading into Saturday’s nonconference home game against Washington State (12:45 p.m., SEC Network). Watson and Doering both had Alabama at No. 2, while Nowkhah and Lang both put Ole Miss at No. 2, so all 4 analysts clearly agree on 1 thing: Alabama and Ole Miss, at least so far, are the 2 top dogs in a rugged SEC.
Here are the complete power rankings for the 4 SEC Network analysts:
