As it does following each week of the college football season, PFF has released its picks for the players of the week and its offensive and defensive teams following Week 8 action.
While he’s no longer playing in the SEC, the PFF offensive player of the week is no stranger to SEC fans.
His name? Bo Nix.
The former Auburn and current Oregon quarterback was recognized after accounting for 334 total yards and 5 touchdowns in the Ducks’ win over UCLA.
On the defensive side of the ball, the recipient for Week 8 was an SEC player, as Vanderbilt’s Anfernee Orji got the nod.
The senior linebacker had 12 tackles, an interception, a sack, and a forced fumble in the Commodores’ 17-14 loss to Missouri.
Also representing the SEC on the weekly offensive and defensive teams were Tennessee WR Jalin Hyatt, Alabama CB Eli Ricks, and South Carolina CB Darius Rush.
For Hyatt, he was selected for the 2nd consecutive week after catching 7 passes for 174 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Volunteers’ win over UT Martin.
