Deuce Knight showcased big-time potential at the end of the season, and many Auburn fans hoped the program had finally found its quarterback of the future. However, the Alex Golesh era is getting off to a bit of a rocky start in regards to the transfer portal as Knight announced on Tuesday that he will look at continuing his career elsewhere.
While the portal officially opens up on Jan. 2, Ole Miss is being looked at as a favorite to get the former 5-star prospect.
During a recent podcast, Ben Garrett said the Rebels are looked at as the favorite.
“If Deuce Knight gets in, then Ole Miss is the prohibitive favorite to get him,” Garret said.
One of the biggest reasons Garrett believes that Ole Miss is favored to get Knight is because he played his high school football in the state of Mississippi.
Knight is going to be one of the most sought-after prospects in the class, and teams going after him are going to be hoping that they can potentially get the biggest prospect in the transfer portal, Cam Coleman to come as well.
The Rebels are locked in and focused on their upcoming CFP matchup against Georgia. However, with many of the other assistant coaches leaving for LSU after the game, the off-season in Oxford figures to be a wild one.
