Texas softball can officially claim back-to-back national championships after Thursday night, having beaten Texas Tech in the WCWS Finals for the second straight season.

Texas’s win gives the Longhorns their 3rd national championship of the 2025-26 school year. The Longhorns also won the women’s rowing and men’s swimming & diving titles earlier this year.

Texas softball’s national title victory tied an SEC record in the process. The conference on Friday reported that the Longhorns’ win tied the record for most national championships secured by league members across a single school year with 10.

Here’s a look at every SEC national champion in 2025-26:

  • Texas softball
  • Texas swimming and diving (men’s)
  • Texas rowing
  • Texas A&M tennis (women’s)
  • Texas A&M volleyball
  • Arkansas track & field (men’s indoor)
  • Auburn golf (men’s)
  • Georgia track & field (women’s indoor)
  • Oklahoma gymnastics (women’s)
  • South Carolina equestrian

Of course, the 2025-26 school year isn’t over quite yet. The NCAA baseball tournament is still going strong, meaning the conference can break the record if any of Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Georgia, Oklahoma, Alabama or Texas can win the 2026 national title. From a purely statistical perspective, the SEC has a 43.7% chance (7/16).
