SEC uses Lane Kiffin’s ‘pro players’ comments as part of amendment to lawsuit against LSU

The SEC took its lawsuit against LSU one step further on Tuesday, as it filed an amendment seeking legal authority to remove the university amid the football program’s plans to use former NFL signees despite a policy prohibiting it.
This would obviously be the nuclear option for the SEC. In fact, it would be a major surprise if it indeed followed through if it were given the ability. Whether it comes to pass or not, it doesn’t appear LSU, and Lane Kiffin, are budging from their positions.
As for the amendment? Lane Kiffin’s “Imagine if we had pro players” quote from Saturday’s Week 1 win against Clemson was submitted as evidence against the university, as you can see below:
LSU didn’t use professional players — namely, Zxavian Harris and Dae’Quan Wright — during its win over Clemson. Though both are enrolled at the university, neither player was added to the roster by the pregame deadline and is unable to practice with the team until being rostered.
In Week 2, the Tigers face Louisiana Tech as they look to go 2-0 in the young season. September 19, though, is the date circled on everyone’s calendar: LSU vs. Ole Miss at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, Kiffin’s first game back in Oxford.
