Shane Beamer knows South Carolina has to be better on offense than what the Gamecocks showed Saturday. David Cloninger from the (Charleston, S.C.) Post and Courier has the report on a sluggish performance in a 35-14 win over Georgia State.
Beamer on some of the offensive struggles: We all had a hand in it. It’s Game 1 and we’ll be better.

New quarterback Spencer Rattler, a highly-touted transfer from Oklahoma, threw two interceptions and the Gamecocks only rushed for 79 yards.
The positives for South Carolina were the special teams, which blocked two punts and returned both for touchdowns. The Gamecocks defense held Georgia State to just 7-of-29 passing for 111 yards.
Shane Beamer teleconference: Certainly have to be better offensively, and we will be.
We responded to adversity last night … and we had zero pre-snap penalties.

South Carolina will have to get better quickly as the Gamecocks travel to No. 19 Arkansas next Saturday.
