Shane Hooks had a long and twisting path towards Auburn, Alabama, but is already showing signs of insane athleticism for the Tigers during scrimmage.
Head coach Hugh Freeze told reporters after Saturday’s scrimmage that Hooks hauled in a “SportsCenter” catch for a touchdown. The Tigers even caught it on video, check it out below:

Hooks found his way to Auburn via Jackson State, though he was committed to Ole Miss before Freeze swayed him to join the squad. He transferred to Jackson State to play for Coach Prime after starting at Ohio out of high school.
He had a strong season in 2022 with the JS Tigers, totaling 66 receptions for 775 yards and 10 touchdowns.
We’ll see what kind of impact he makes for the Tigers alongside returner Ja’Varrius Johnson and Jyaire Shorter out of North Texas.
