Shedeur Sanders suffers injury in training camp, per report

Shedeur Sanders made headlines last week after a strong performance in the Cleveland Browns’ first preseason game against the Carolina Panthers. He threw 2 touchdowns in the first half, and showed the type of poise the staff would want to see.
He was looking to build off that during training camp, but according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, he is now dealing with an injury that forced him to miss the remainder of the practice.
The injury occurred in the early part of practice, as Sanders injured his oblique throwing the ball.
There hasn’t been a more talked about quarterback battle than the one in Cleveland. The Browns have Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel, Kenny Pickett, Sanders and Tyler Huntley all on the roster; and that doesn’t even include the injured Deshaun Watson.
For the Browns to have four active quarterbacks on the roster shows the team doesn’t know what it is going to do at that position yet. Teams rarely keep four quarterbacks, so there are some tough decisions that still have to be made.
The expectations are that Flacco is going to be the guy in Week 1 of the regular season, but Sanders’ performance in that first game against Carolina opened some eyes up. For a guy who was a fifth-round pick, Sanders is hoping this is a short term injury so he can continue to build off that strong performance.
