South Carolina is looking to heat up on the recruiting trail, and the Gamecocks just landed one of their marquee pieces for the 2026 recruiting class.
The latest commitment for Shane Beamer comes in the form of Landon Duckworth, an elite quarterback prospect out of Jackson (AL) High School. It’s a major win for South Carolina, especially after landing Duckworth’s commitment over SEC rival Auburn.
Duckworth’s commitment is also significant as he was one of the top-rated QBs in the 2026 recruiting class still uncommitted.

Duckworth is listed at 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds. According to the 247 Sports Composite, Duckworth is a 4-star prospect and the No. 6 QB in the country for the class of 2026. He’s also the 64th player nationally, regardless of position.
The elite QB prospect is also a multisport athlete who performs in basketball and in track and field. Duckworth produced a state title on the football field in 2024 and is a 2-time state champion in basketball who averaged over 10 points per game as a junior.
On the football field, Duckworth is an elite dual-threat QB who posted over 3,400 pass yards and nearly 650 rushing yards in 2024. He racked up 51 total touchdowns last season and has 111 total touchdowns throughout his 3-year career.
