South Carolina defeated Texas A&M for the first time in program history and the Gamecocks are getting cocky about it.

South Carolina edged out Texas A&M 30-24 on Saturday and then trolled Texas A&M’s midnight yells on Twitter with its own version.

This is South Carolina’s first 4-game winning streak since 2013. Texas A&M won the previous 8 meetings in the series dating back to when it joined the SEC in 2014.

Xavier Legette churned his legs 100 yards for a touchdown on the opening kickoff for South Carolina. South Carolina jumped out to a 17-0 lead and never looked back. Texas A&M came as close as 24-21 after a field goal right before the end of the third quarter. MarShawn Lloyd sealed the victory with a 4-yard rushing touchdown with 3:08 left in the game. Lloyd rushed for 92 yards and 2 touchdowns on 18 carries.

South Carolina won the game despite Texas A&M having 10 more first downs. Both teams committed 2 turnovers. South Carolina defensive lineman Tonka Hemingway recovered 2 fumbles. South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler completed 12 of his 25 passes for 168 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions.

Next up for South Carolina is a home contest against Missouri on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. ET and will be televised on SEC Network.
