Status revealed for Florida DL Michai Boireau ahead of LSU showdown
The status of Florida defensive lineman Michai Boireau was revealed on Friday for Saturday night’s SEC showdown at No. 3 LSU, and the sophomore from Atlanta was listed as out for the Week 3 matchup.
Boireau was listed as questionable in the availability report released by the SEC on Thursday, so this is a big change on the SEC report 1 day later and 1 day before the teams meet at Death Valley in a primetime matchup that will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
The 6-foot-5, 349-pounder has 5 tackles so far this season, including 1 solo tackle. Last season, Boireau had 15 total tackles, 7 of them solo. Boireau played 144 snaps in 12 games for the Gators in 2024, but it appears that early this season he will have to sit out a very important game for Florida as it attempts to bounce back from a stunning Week 2 home loss to South Florida.
LSU is also expected to be missing one its defensive lineman for the game, as freshman defensive tackle Zion Williams was also listed as out on Friday, according to the SEC availability report.
Sticking with the defensive side of the ball, Florida defensive back Michael Caraway has been listed as out, as has Gators edge rusher LJ McCray.
Florida leads the all-time series with LSU, 34-32-2, and LSU will be looking to avenge last season’s loss in Gainesville.
