Steve Sarkisian shocked by Michigan fans storming the field after win over Western Michigan

Steve Sarkisian has his own team to worry about, particularly this week as 5th-ranked Texas hosts No. 1 Ohio State in a primetime showcase of premier teams and premier brands.
Saturday night’s showdown could be one of the games of the year, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC. But guess what other game is already being considered for a game of the year?
That would be Michigan’s epic victory over Western Michigan last Saturday night, which had the 16th-ranked Wolverines teetering on the brink of an upset all night until a Hail Mary — and maybe a bailout call by the officials — rescued Michigan in a 13-12 victory. Everybody was talking about the last-gasp pass, the controversial decision to give the Wolverines another play and, not to be discounted, the home fans storming the field in Ann Arbor when it was all over.
That’s where Sarkisian came in on Monday during his session with reporters. He simply couldn’t believe that those Michigan fans stormed the field at The Big House.
“Unfortunate for Western Michigan to play their tails off the way they did and to lose like that. I’ve lost a game before on a Hail Mary and that definitely sucks,” Steve Sarkisian said. “But that’s why you play 60 minutes. But, again, I don’t know the exact ruling on the timing. … There’s a lot of moving parts that I’m not going to pretend to know everything about. But, wow, what a finish. My biggest thing was, like, I was shocked they stormed the field. That was probably a surprise.”
