Former Florida coach Steve Spurrier was among many who were saddened to learn about the passing of former Florida WR Aubrey Hill.

The Head Ball Coach recalled that Hill was a co-captain for Florida in 1994, and the first wide receiver he ever used as a tight end. Hill was on the team from 1991-94, and he caught 86 passes including 18 touchdowns.

Hill went into coaching, and was on the Florida staff under Will Muschamp. He later coached for several ACC programs and at Miami Carol City High School.

Spurrier also recalled a couple of warm memories for Florida fans, two incredible plays that were among the favorites for Spurrier.

“… a seam route to beat South Carolina in 1992 that helped us win the division and a pass he caught from Chris Doering that set up the game-winning touchdown vs. Alabama in 1994.”
