Dak Prescott’s last three games haven’t been his best. The former Mississippi State quarterback has been unable to crack the 200-yards passing mark, and had a particularly rough outing Sunday night against the New York Giants. Prescott was 17-of-37 for 165 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions in Dallas’ 10-7 loss to the Giants.
But don’t tell Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Gerald McCoy that Prescott is struggling.
โHeโs having a great rookie year, man,โ McCoy said, per Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. โOne of the top quarterbacks in the league this year and is very patient. Doesnโt let the rush affect him and heโs not really flustered that much. People are making such a big deal over two games or one game, whatever.
โThey said, โOh, the past (three) games the Cowboys are struggling.โ I think people just need something to write about. They lost one game in that span. One. What are they, 11-2? Golly, man.
โYou lose one game and now youโre not the same team anymore? So what? I hope people are not basing predictions on whatโs going to happen off them having struggles. Theyโre still the same team, theyโre still the dominant team theyโve been.โ
McCoy’s Bucs take on Prescott’s Cowboys Sunday at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
