Halftime Quick Take: Delay can’t dampen Texas A&M offense

Texas A&M took the ball seven times in the first half and scored six times.

It took a fumble by receiver Rickey Seals-Jones early in the second quarter to keep the Aggies off the scoreboard. Texas A&M leads, 31-3, and gained 358 yards in the first half.

Oh, and in case you’re wondering, quarterback Kenny Hill still is good. Hill threw for 233 yards and three touchdowns before giving way to freshman quarterback Kyle Allen.

Six different Aggies caught multiple passes before halftime.

Running back Tra Carson (toe) didn’t play, and tight end Cameron Clear did not dress, though no reason has been given.

Speedy Noil had a 67-yard punt return, but got tripped short of the goal line, in addition to three catches for 66 yards.

Meanwhile, Texas A&M allowed a field goal on Lamar’s second drive, then shut down the Cardinals for the rest of the half.

The Aggies aren’t going to drop in the polls this week, and the game is proceeding pretty much as expected.
