Tate Sandell has made some huge kicks during his career at Oklahoma, but he had a kick he would like to forget on Saturday.
With the Sooners trailing South Carolina, 42-25, late in the game, the Sooners lined up for an onside kick. The Sooners originally got the first one, but instant replay determined the Sooners touched the ball before it went 10 yards.
On the retry, Sandell went to kick the ball, but it barely went anywhere.
The kick was very fitting on Saturday night, as it was that type of game for the Sooners. The Gamecocks came in and controlled the game from the very beginning, and delivered a dominating performance.
For Brent Venables and the Sooners, finding a way to finish this season on a positive note is going to be a big challenge. Former Sooners star Nik Bonitto made news as he posted on social media that his school needs to make a change.
The schedule doesn’t get any easier for the Sooners, as they will hit the road to take on Florida and then will host Ole Miss the following week. Kickoff for the game against the Gators is 7:45 p.m. ET and the game will be on the SEC Network.
