Tennessee announced 4 captains on Friday afternoon for its titanic primetime matchup on Saturday night against Oklahoma, an SEC collision that will leave 1 unfortunate team with its dreaded 3rd loss of the season.

The 14th-ranked Volunteers are hoping that team isn’t them. Tennessee will put its faith in 4 players to lead the way and help make sure that 3rd loss doesn’t arrive late Saturday night at Neyland Stadium. The 18th-ranked Sooners take a similar 6-2 overall record into the matchup. It’ll be a little extra special for Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel, who played quarterback for Oklahoma and led the Sooners to the national title in 2000.

A quarter of a century later, these 4 captains will try to make sure Heupel gets a victory against the program he used to represent. The 4 captains for Saturday night will be junior long snapper Bennett Brady, senior defensive lineman Josh Josephs, senior tight end Miles Kitselman and junior linebacker Jeremiah Telander.

Josephs has 29 total tackles, 15 of them solo, 4 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries, so he’s done a little bit of everything for the Vols’ defense this season.

Kitselman has 23 catches for 226 yards and 2 touchdowns so far this year. Meanwhile, Telander has collected 45 total tackles, 19 of them solo, and 1 interception this fall.
