Tennessee suffered a brutal road loss against South Carolina in Week 8, and there will be plenty of time for the Volunteers and their fans to lick their wounds as the team enters its bye week that will finish off the month of October.

But when November dawns, it’s back to the field for the 16th-ranked Vols, who will begin the stretch run on Nov. 7 with a huge showdown against current No. 9 Kentucky back in the friendly confines of Neyland Stadium. Tennessee (6-2, 3-2 SEC) will be thankful to be back home after what happened in Columbia last Saturday, and its fans will be there in full force, as usual.

In fact, on Monday afternoon came a big announcement for that Kentucky matchup, with the kickoff time and TV designation announced as 6:15 p.m. ET on ESPN. What was also determined on Monday was that the major SEC matchup will be a sellout at Neyland Stadium, which will extend Tennessee’s sellout streak to 33 games.

The Vols won’t just be back home after that awful road ending in Week 8, they’ll once again have the maximum outpouring of support from their passionate fan base when they return to action in Week 10.

It’ll be a night game, too, and almost assuredly between ranked teams with everything to play for as the 2026 season hits its stretch drive.

With Tennessee already having lost 2 games this season, the Volunteers are in desperation mode in terms of trying to make the College Football Playoff. Here is what the Kalshi market is currently saying about the best odds to make the elite 12-team field when it is announced in December:
