Tennessee fans react to mention of Lane Kiffin on College GameDay with explicit chant

College GameDay traveled to Knoxville, Tennessee, in Week 4 for the monumental showdown between the No. 1 Texas Longhorns and the No. 14 Tennessee Volunteers, and Vol fans showed up in force for the broadcast.
Former Alabama head coach Nick Saban got everyone in attendance riled up when he took a jab at Tennessee over his nearly 20 years of dominance over the program, prompting a very explicit chant from the crowd.
Saban may not have many fans in Rocky Top, but there’s no denying most Vols fans have some respect for the GOAT. Lane Kiffin, on the other hand, is absolutely loathed across the state, and that was made very clear when his name came up during the broadcast.
Long before his controversial exit from Ole Miss in 2025, Kiffin left the Volunteers high and dry in a similar fashion for USC back in 2009 after just one season as head coach in Knoxville.
If anything, the way Kiffin handled his departure from Tennessee was even worse than how he handled his move to LSU last winter, with his infamous press conference still fresh in the minds of everyone who witnessed it.
Vol fans have extremely long memories, and Kiffin’s name will likely draw the same kind of reaction it got on GameDay for the rest of time on Rocky Top.
