Tennessee has lost a 4-star commitment to defending national champion Ohio State.
Class of 2026 ATH Legend Bey is flipping his commitment from the Volunteers to the Buckeyes, according to On3. The 6-foot, 185-pound Bey was previously committed to Tennessee dating back to June.
The Texas native is considered by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 24 ATH in the nation and the No. 47 in-state prospect. Bey also is a track athlete and that speed makes him extremely difficult to defend. Playing quarterback in high school is also regarded as a positive as Bey moves over to a new position when he gets to college.
Dynamic high school quarterback who projects as a playmaking skill weapon…Plays with sudden downhill acceleration and corresponding top-end speed. Also displays short-area redirecting twitch to evade in tight quarters and set up explosive cuts,” 247Sports Scouting Analyst Gabe Brooks wrote. “Years spent as a high school QB should aid awareness/football IQ when transitioning to a different skill position. May need time to acclimate to that new full-time spot, but could provide immediate return game value.
Currently, for the Class of 2026 team rankings, Ohio State is now No. 7 while Tennessee is slotted at No. 8 nationally.
