Earlier this offseason, Tennessee punter Joe Doyle entered the NCAA transfer portal to explore his options.

Doyle served as the Vols’ primary punter in 2018 and also punted 21 times as a sophomore in 2019.

However, according to 247Sports, Doyle was back on the team roster on Wednesday and has apparently had a change of heart:

Joe Doyle, who was the starting punter for the Vols during the entire 2018 season and for the first half of the 2019 season, was on the official updated 2020 roster Tennessee released on Wednesday afternoon following the conclusion of the team’s second preseason practice.

Doyle has punted 86 times in his 2 years with the Vols. He has averaged 41.2 yards per kick. He’ll compete with Paxton Brooks for the job in 2020.
