Texas A&M has a new commit in the class of 2027.
The Aggies have landed a commitment from 3-star safety Errol Kerns. Previously committed to Miami (OH), Kerns announced his decision to flip to the Aggies on Friday afternoon.
“I want to thank coach Elko, coach Williams, and the entire Texas A&M staff for their belief in me and for making College Station feel like home,” Kerns wrote in-part.

Kerns is a big-time pickup for Texas A&M. He’s currently ranked as the No. 556 overall player and the No. 52 safety in the country for the class of 2027, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 12 player from the state of Indiana in this class.

Kerns attends Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis. He’s listed at 5-foot-11, 195 pounds.
Kerns’ recruitment has been ramping up in recent weeks as he picked up offers from Indiana and Ohio State during the month of May. Given his impressive offer list, it’s possible Kerns will be bumped to 4-star status before the end of this cycle.
Texas A&M now has 19 commitments in the class of 2027. The Aggies’ class ranks No. 1 in the nation, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Kerns and other 2027 prospects will be able to officially sign with their chosen programs during the Early Signing Period in December.
