Texas A&M will look to move to 6-0 on the season when the Aggies host the Florida Gators on Saturday.

The defense, which struggled during the non-conference but has played much better in the team’s first 2 SEC league games, could get more of a boost with the return of linebacker Scooby Williams.

On the Thursday night availability report Texas A&M provided to the SEC, Williams was upgraded to probable for Saturday’s game. On the initial Wednesday report, the linebacker was listed as questionable.

Williams suffered an ankle injury during the Aggies’ Sept. 13 win over Notre Dame and has missed the last 2 games because of it.

Before transferring to Texas A&M, Williams began his college career at Florida, where he played his first 3 years. Last season was his first year in College Station. He finished fourth on the defense in tackles, with 43, while also adding an interception.

This season, he has 12 tackles in 3 appearances, and he will add another playmaker on the defensive side of the ball. Being able to add a talented player like Williams to a defense that has given up only 19 points in its last two games could help take Texas A&M to another level on defense.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, with the game on ESPN.
