Some teams are careful to avoid providing their opponents with bulletin-board material, but Texas A&M offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone is skirting that line this week.

Speaking with the media on Tuesday, Mazzone decided to poke a little fun at the atmosphere in Auburn’s Jordan-Hare Stadium during game days.

โ€œItโ€™s a good game day environment,โ€ he said, according to 247Sports. โ€œNot as good as here, but I donโ€™t want to be Rosen and have them chanting my name.โ€

UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen commented before his team’s season opener at Texas A&M that 100,000 people in College Station didn’t sound much different than 50,000 people. The Aggies faithful responded by chanting his name throughout the team’s 31-24 overtime victory.

Mazzone coached at Auburn from 1999 to 2001 and made sure to give the Tigers the proper respect.

โ€œItโ€™s SEC football,โ€ Mazzone said. โ€œI told the kids the other day how lucky they are. Iโ€™ve coached in places where there are 15,000 in the stands and how lucky they are to play in these kind of venues week in and week out, and thatโ€™s just another great venue in the SEC.”

No. 17 Texas A&M takes on Auburn at 7 p.m. ET and can be seen on ESPN.
