For the 5th time in program history, the Texas Longhorns athletics program has won the Learfield Directors’ Cup. Texas outlasted Stanford and UCLA to collect the title for the 2025-26 season.
The Learfield Directors’ Cup is given to the athletics program that excels across all sports across an entire year of competition. Texas finished the 2025-26 season with a total of 1,322 points, having won 3 national titles in softball, women’s rowing and men’s swimming and diving. The Longhorns also finished 2nd in men’s tennis and reached the College World Series in baseball, among other notable achievements.
The SEC fared very well this year, despite no other program cracking the top 5 alongside Texas. Nine SEC schools were included in the top 25 of the final standings. The SEC programs to crack the top 25 are as follows: Florida (No. 6), Georgia (No. 8), Texas A&M (No. 12), Alabama (No. 13), Arkansas (No. 14), Tennessee (No. 15), Oklahoma (No. 16) and finally LSU (No. 17).
Auburn (26), Kentucky (27), Ole Miss (34) and Vanderbilt (40) all cracked the top 40.
