Texas has made a major addition in the class of 2027.
The Longhorns have earned a commitment from 4-star defensive lineman Tyler Alexander. He shared the news of his commitment with Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett on Tuesday morning.
“Everything is bigger in Texas,” Alexander told Rivals.

Alexander is an excellent defensive line prospect. He’s the No. 428 overall player and the No. 49 defensive line recruit in the nation for the 2027 cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Already regarded as a 4-star recruit, Alexander could rise further up the rankings in the coming months before the end of the 2027 cycle. He has received more than a dozen power-conference offers since the turn of the new year, including from programs like Georgia and Notre Dame.
Alexander attends Palm Beach Central High School in Wellington, Florida. He’s listed at 6-foot-3, 315 pounds.
Texas is now up to 17 commits in the class of 2027. That includes an impressive 5 defensive line commits, led by top-100 prospect Kasi Currie. The Longhorns have the nation’s No. 7-ranked class, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
