The Texas Longhorns added their 18th commitment of the 2027 cycle on Tuesday, landing a pledge from Amarillo-based wide receiver Kyron Brown. The Palo Duro high school senior stands at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds and totaled 37 receptions for 637 yards and 7 touchdowns as a junior.
Brown held several Power 4 offers and chose the Longhorns over Kansas State, Mississippi State, Baylor, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Colorado. He recently completed an official visit to Mississippi State on June 19 following a visit to Baylor on June 12.

Brown is considered to be the No. 629 overall prospect in the Class of 2027 according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. He’s also rated the No. 79 wide receiver and the No. 90 prospect out of the Lone Star State.
The Longhorns have an elite 2027 class as we near the month of July. 247Sports ranks the Longhorns No. 6 in the country, behind only Texas A&M and Oklahoma in the SEC. So far, he’s the 3rd wide receiver to commit to Texas this cycle, joining 5-star Easton Royal and 4-star Briceson Thrower.
