The Georgia Bulldogs are heading west to take on Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day.

They’ll play in the same stadium that the Los Angeles Rams currently play in, which means they’ll be playing on the same field as former Georgia stars Todd Gurley (a potential NFL MVP this year) and Alec Ogletree.

This week, the former Bulldogs discussed their alma mater’s chances to advance to the national title game. Gurley, obviously, likes what he’s seen from the Georgia rushing attack, led by seniors Nick Chubb and Sony Michel. He also praised star LB Roquan Smith (via OnlineAthens.com):

“Powerhouse offense,” Gurley said. “Three, four of the greatest running backs in college football. You know, one of the best linebackers playing against the Heisman Trophy winner. It’s going to be exciting, but of course we’re going to get the win over there in the Rose Bowl.”

Ogletree also had plenty of praise for Chubb and Michel, adding that he always had faith in second-year head coach Kirby Smart to get the Dawgs where they needed to be:

“They had a lot of talent there and they had a lot of guys come back with (Nick) Chubb and Sony (Michel),” Ogletree said. “I knew that they would have a pretty good team. It was just a matter of putting it all together and I knew Coach Kirby Smart was good coach. He’s done a tremendous job for them this year.”

The Rams host the San Francisco 49ers on New Year’s Eve, so it’s likely that both Gurley and Ogletree will be on the Georgia sidelines for the semifinal matchup the following day.
