Tua Tagovailoa played in No. 3 Alabama’s home loss to No. 2 LSU last Saturday. Will he be a full go for its game against Mississippi State, its final one before an open week?

Well, there’s some good news and some bad news.

The good news is that Tagovailoa was dressed on Tuesday during the Crimson Tide’s open portion of practice. The bad news is that he didn’t appear to be participating all that much, according to Montgomery Advertiser beat reporter Alex Byington.

While Nick Saban won’t tip his hand either way about his quarterback until he’s ready to, Tagovailoa is still feeling the effects of an injury he suffered on Oct. 19 against Tennessee. He was 21-of-40 for 418 yards and 4 touchdowns despite throwing 1 interception in a losing cause for the Crimson Tide against the Tigers last Saturday. And his status for the coming Saturday against the Bulldogs will continue to be in the air probably until closer to the day of the game.

Until then, Alabama fans continue to wait, holding their collective breaths in hopes that their star quarterback can not only play, but get back to 100 percent in time for a shot at a 5th straight College Football Playoff national championship game appearance and a 6th national title since 2009.
