Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson has been lauded for his composure and toughness under pressure so far this season, and both of those defining traits are being tested today against the Missouri Tigers.

The junior gunslinger was looking to lead the Tide on a scoring drive out of halftime, but ended up fumbling the ball after taking a brutal sack on the first play from scrimmage out of the break.

Simpson came up grabbing his midsection following the massive hit, but his toughness showed through once again as he came to the sideline with the ESPN broadcast crew reporting that he actually waved off the training staff after they suggested he head over to the medical tent for evaluation.

This type of grit is and resiliency is one of the major reasons Simpson quickly endeared himself to both his teammates and the fans in Tuscaloosa over the first half of the 2025 campaign.

The quarterback is the leader of the offense, and Simpson’s ability to walk off a pretty massive hit is a signal to his teammates and coaches that he isn’t going to fold under pressure.

They’ll be looking for Simpson to continue showing that grit for the rest of the game against Mizzou, as this game is shaping up to be an absolute nail bitter down the stretch.
