Week 1 CFB Picks
Here’s who we’re riding with in Week 1:
Andrew Olson
Cam Coleman, Texas WR: Higher than 0.5 rush+receiving TDs
After 2 years of poor QB play and coaching at Auburn, Cam Coleman gets to catch passes from Arch Manning with Steve Sarkisian calling plays at Texas. There’s a reason the Longhorns gave Coleman a massive NIL deal to come to Austin: he’s getting paid to score touchdowns.
DJ Lagway, Baylor QB: Lower than 1.5 interceptions
In 2 seasons at Florida, DJ Lagway posted a concerning touchdown-to-interception ratio of 28-23. As ugly as those interception numbers are, multi-interception games were relatively rare. As a 12-game starter in 2025, Lagway had 3 multi-interception games. The Auburn defense also posted just 3 multi-INT games against Power 4 teams in 2025. I’ll say Lagway keeps it to 1 pick or fewer on Saturday in Atlanta.
Jadan Baugh, Florida RB: Higher than 0.5 rush+receiving TDs
For Florida, it’s new coach, new OC, new offensive line, same plan: run the Baugh. Thanks to 2 receiving scores, Baugh finished the 2025 season with at least 1 touchdown in each of the last 6 games. I don’t see Florida Atlantic snapping that streak.

Josh Hoover, Indiana QB: Higher than 2.5 total TDs
All Josh Hoover has to do is step into a situation where he’s taking over the reins of a team that went 17-0 and won the national title last year. And he’s replacing a guy who won the Heisman Trophy. No pressure. He’ll want to get off to a great start in front of his home fans, so I’ll take him to account for 3+ total touchdowns today against North Texas.
Ryan Coleman-Williams, Alabama WR: Higher than 63.5 receiving yards
Ryan Coleman-Williams had a disappointing sophomore season at Alabama. He’s back for another year and will be eager to show he’s still one of the best receivers in the nation. I like Kalen DeBoer and Ryan Grubb to draw up some plays for RCW early and often against East Carolina.
Ryan Wingo, Texas WR: Higher than 48.5 receiving yards
I’m of the belief that Wingo is going to be a big beneficiary of having Cam Coleman in the Texas offense. There should be plenty of single coverage on Wingo, and he’s good enough to burn it. I like him to start the 2026 season with 49+ receiving yards.
