The first College Football Playoff rankings will be released on Tuesday night, and there are two SEC teams — Alabama and Georgia — with legitimate claims to the top four.
Indeed, among the teams with the best Playoff odds in the country, Alabama is No. 1 and Georgia is tied for No. 4 with Notre Dame.
As you can see below, Alabama’s odds are an impressive 2/3, while Ohio State (3/1), Clemson 8/1) and Georgia/Notre Dame (12/1) all follow closely behind:

There are still a few weeks left in the regular season, but if the teams at the top of the rankings continue taking care of business, the CFP committee will have some incredibly tough decisions to make.
It will be impossible for Alabama and Georgia to both finish the year undefeated, as they would meet in the SEC Championship Game if that was the case.
Therefore, there will be many questions that need to be asked and answered before the final four is set in stone.
