We’ve seen a lot of high-pressure, big-money kicks on College GameDay this season. Tyler Hwang from Vanderbilt just blew all those kicks out of the water with an absolute nuke worth a grand total of $750,000.
Tyler exuded confidence from the jump during College GameDay’s fan kick segment. He was so confident he would make the kick, in fact, that Pat McAfee upped the prize money to $500,000, insisting that he only would receive one attempt at the prize. Additionally, $250,000 to charity was also on the table.
Folks, this one might have been good from 50.
McAfee setting out to prove that kicking hard is kind of backfiring on him, isn’t it? Tyler mentioned that he kicked in high school, but this particular kick never had a chance of missing the uprights. It’s also worth mentioning that Rece Davis reported soon after that Clark Lea was asking for Tyler’s information.
Is this a good omen for Vanderbilt football against a very good Mizzou Tigers team? The Commodores need this one if they want to retain their shot at reaching the College Football Playoff. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET/2:30 CT on ESPN.
