No, Phil Steele didn’t drop the Longhorns out of the top 25 of his Vegas Power Rankings. He has knocked Texas out of the top 10, though, after having them as the No. 2 team in the country entering Week 6. In Vegas, a fall that big — particularly in the upper echelon of the rankings — is uncommon and incredibly notable.
Beyond Texas, there wasn’t much major movement of any higher-end SEC team in these power rankings, which portray who Vegas would have favored on a neutral field in a given matchup. That said, for the first time this year, the SEC holds only 3 of the top 10 overall spots.
