Saturday was a very good day for fans of Alabama and Clemson, as both schools cruised past their opponents to advance to next Monday’s national championship game.

According to ESPN.com, though, Las Vegas sportsbooks didn’t share in that enthusiasm, as a large percentage of the money was bet on the Crimson Tide and the Tigers:

“We got crushed, just crushed,” said SuperBook assistant manager Ed Salmons. “Every bet we wrote yesterday was Alabama and Clemson. Every bet, every parlay … Alabama and Clemson.”

“It was a bloodbath,” MGM vice president of race and sports Jay Rood added. “No good.”

As for the title matchup between the schools, bettors are riding the Tigers early. In fact, according to the report, $11,000 of the first $11,020 bet was on Clemson.

In the early lines, Alabama was a seven-point favorite, but the line has now slipped to -6.5 thanks to the heavy action on Clemson.
