On Wednesday evening, Alabama AD Greg Byrne and other notable Alabama personalities announced the return of the popular “Dixieland Delight” song this weekend.
The song has been banned by Alabama since 2015 due to some colorful lyrics added by the student section, but will return for the homecoming game against Mizzou on Saturday night.
However, Byrne cautioned in his video that the fans need to “do it right” this time. Here’s a look at the Iron Bowl back in 2014, where the student section (and plenty of other fans, too) went a bit far in yelling profanity at Auburn (WARNING: Lots of NSFW language in this video, shared by Josh Fields on YouTube):

Byrne and the others clearly want the song to speak for itself and for the other lyrics to be eliminated. We’ll see how that goes on Saturday night, but this could be a brief return for the song.
