In a game where the scoring was free and easy, South Carolina WR Deebo Samuel made the latest in a series of highlight-reel plays.
Samuel caught a pass deep over the middle and out-ran the remaining Clemson defenders for a 75-yard touchdown late in the first half, to cut the deficit to 28-21 Clemson.
The catch was Samuel’s fourth catch of the night as he had 101 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
In a game full of big plays, Samuel’s catch followed a similar play when QB Jake Bentley found Kiel Pollard for a 67-yard touchdown.
This was expected to be the best South Carolina offense in the Palmetta Bowl in three years, and the Gamecocks are delivering.
