After losing 4-star QB commit Matt Corral to Ole Miss earlier this week, many wondered what new Florida coach Dan Mullen would do.
He quickly put Gator Nation’s minds at ease, landing a commitment from 4-star dual-threat QB Emory Jones, who signed with Florida on Wednesday.
Jones was a longtime Ohio State commit and was also considering Florida State, but he chose the Gators. In the video below, shared by @Justin_FOX5 on Twitter, he explains what put Florida over the top:

“I feel like this is the best opportunity for me,” he said. “Just seeing how he developed his quarterbacks [at Mississippi State] … I know he’ll develop me and get me where I want to be.”
Mullen now has his quarterback of the future, and Gator fans will be anxious to see if he can develop Jones into a star quarterback like he did with Dak Prescott, Nick Fitzgerald, Tim Tebow, Alex Smith and others.
