It’s tough to have big hits in football go unflagged these days, but that was what happened with Arizona Cardinals S Deionte Thompson on Saturday.
The former Alabama star delivered a big hit to a Vikings receiver over the middle of the field, but it was a clean play.
As you can see below, this is exactly the kind of big hits the NFL wants to see more often from defenders in the open field:

Thompson fell to the fifth round in the 2019 NFL Draft, but the Cardinals need secondary help, so he’ll likely have a chance to earn a big role this fall.
