The long scoring drought is over. Julio Jones has found the end zone.
The Atlanta Falcons wide receiver and former Alabama star snapped his scoreless streak at 90 catches as he scored in the fourth quarter of a rout over the Washington Redskins on Sunday. It was the first regular season TD for Jones since Week 12 last season.
In a rare sight not seen outside of a game-winning score, a host of teammates rushed to meet him in the end zone to celebrate the score, which gave Atlanta a 38-14 win.
This season alone, Jones had 53 receptions for 812 yards without a score before Sunday. At the 2:00 mark near the end of the game, Jones had seven catches for 121 yards and the TD on 10 targets.
Clearing this end zone logjam could relieve some pressure from Jones and the Falcons offense as they enter the second half of the season.
