WATCH: Kirk Herbstreit just registered the most valuable completion of his career
In case you were wondering, Kirk Herbstreit still has an accurate arm.
The former Ohio State quarterback and current ESPN College GameDay analyst is in Atlanta to call the National Championship Game but before entering Mercedes-Benz Stadium to get to work on the game, Herbie participated in a charity contest for the CFP Extra Yard program. The program, started by the College Football Playoff Foundation, centers around early childhood education, inspiring a college-going culture, and supporting the teaching profession.
Herbstreit was given a chance to complete his first pass for $1 million dollars but failed to successfully complete the throw. Given two more opportunities, the GameDay host nailed his third attempt and scored $500,000 for the foundation.
