WATCH: NFL insider thinks Cleveland Browns may reach out to Peyton Manning

Peyton Manning seems to be enjoying retired life right now, doing commercials and other acting gigs.
Teams have tried to get him to return to the field and he even had to come out and say he wasn’t going to run for a U.S. Senate seat.
However, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him end up in an NFL front office or even running a team, a la John Elway.
In fact, NFL insider Albert Breer said he could see the Tennessee legend in a “football czar” role with the Cleveland Browns, as you can see in the clip from Wednesday’s episode of “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” below:

“Jimmy Haslam has a very, very close relationship with Peyton Manning,” he said. “I’m not saying that they blow it up after this year. I think Jimmy Haslam’s intention has been to give these guys at least three or four years to build it up. But if coaching and scouting isn’t aligned in the right way, the answer will be to go and bring in a football czar.
“You remember Denver had to do that in 2011 — their answer was John Elway. We know Peyton Manning has a desire to play that kind of role. I’m not sure whether he’s ready to jump out of retirement and back into the football world again, but I do know that he’s a very close confidant of Jimmy Haslam’s. Jimmy Haslam is a huge University of Tennessee booster and Peyton Manning would probably be the first guy on his list if he were looking to bring a guy in to head the organization.”
Would Manning be interested in walking into the mess in Cleveland? That remains to be seen, but if he really is as close with Haslam as Breer says, anything is possible.
