Former Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen is widely credited with developing Bulldogs QB Nick Fitzgerald from an under-the-radar quarterback recruit to one of the top signal-callers in the SEC. New MSU coach Joe Moorhead is determined to elevate Fitzgerald’s game to the next level and make him a Heisman Trophy winner.
Fitzgerald was complimentary of both his former and current head coaches at SEC Media Days. But he sees a clear difference in the approach each takes to coaching. In the video below, Fitzgerald is asked to identify the biggest difference between Mullen and Moorhead. He doesn’t hesitate to say intensity. Check out the clip below for Fitzgerald’s full answer.

Fitzgerald can get used to talking about his former coach. Mullen’s Florida squad comes to Starkville to take on Fitzgerald and the Bulldogs on Sept. 29.
