The LSU Tigers looked great at home on Saturday night, rolling to an easy 45-16 victory over the Ole Miss Rebels.
The Tigers ran and threw the ball well, amassing a total of 573 yards of offense against the Rebels’ hapless defense.
After the game, coach Ed Orgeron had plenty of nice things to say about his team, but also noted that there is still a lot of work left to do.
Here’s what he had to say following Saturday’s big victory:
On this team’s potential:
Ed Orgeron asked about this team's potential. "No where near (it). We haven't played a complete game yet." #LSU

On lack of pass rush:
Ed Orgeron said the team did not pressure the quarterback like they wanted. "We still didn't get what we wanted done." #LSU

On Joe Burrow’s big game:
Ed Orgeron on if LSU has a QB now that can win the big games in the SEC:
"We're about to find out…I know he can make the throws, know he can scramble. Just got to protect him long enough"#LSU

On S Grant Delpit making big plays near the line of scrimmage:
Ed Orgeron on Grant Delpit: "We wanted him to play in the post."
I think my beats just got criss-crossed.

The Tigers travel to Florida for a rivalry game against the Gators next weekend. It’ll be another tough contest for LSU, but with the way the team has played this year, a win is the expectation.
